Texting While Skateboarding

I’m not really a big fan of using cell phones, and as a result I’m not really much of a text message person either. With that said I understand why people like to text message. I liked using my pager for the same reason. It is quick and effective communication. Unfortunately effective does not always equate to safe, and for one 12 year old skateboarder who was paying too much attention to his texting paid the price when he was struck by a car. With that said, there may be no law about texting while skateboarding, but I would highly encourage skateboarders to not text while skating. It’s easy enough to get off your board for a few seconds, type your message, hit send, and move on.
